About The Entry

Our mural design refashions the most recognizable features of the IMF seal into a contemporary illustration style. It is part of an environmental branding initiative that strengthens the IMF’s brand recognition worldwide.
At the center of the mural is a modernized shield, which symbolizes the IMF’s protection of the global economy. Within the shield, the globe’s hemispheres interlock, representing our multicultural workforce and our greater international reach. A nearby olive branch signifies peace and prosperity, both outcomes the institution strives to promote. Overall, this illustration draws from IMF icons representing the organization's work, values, and impact.
The modular design allows icons to be customized for different departments, regions, and field offices while maintaining a consistent visual identity. This flexibility allows each mural to better reflect the region in which it resides. At the same time, it remains unmistakably IMF.
These murals are located in high-visibility spaces where strong brand presence is needed, including broadcast studios, departmental entrances, and offices. They are landmarks that create a sense of place, reinforce institutional identity, and connect employees and visitors with the IMF's mission.
As part of a broader branding strategy, the IMF's Corporate Real Estate team is implementing these murals across field offices worldwide.
By translating the IMF seal into a scalable environmental branding program, our murals make tangible the organization's mission, values, and global impact.
