About The Entry
Building off Coach’s success of its 2024 debut into gaming, bringing its Spring campaign to players on Roblox and Zepeto, Coach decided to tap into gaming once again as a tool to amplify its “Courage to Be Real” brand purpose and ignite fandom.
In January 2026, Coach launched its virtual collection in The Sims 4. Rather than interrupt gameplay with traditional static branding placements, the integration was designed for seamless brand immersion by enriching the creative systems players already loved.
The collection saw the addition of nine virtual wearables based, offering 65 different print and colour variations to create hundreds of outfit combinations. Leaning into Sims worldbuilding, the in-game collection also offered branding in both English and Simlish, The Sims 4’s own language, for further immersion.
In build mode, Coach’s signature Tabby and Brooklyn handbags were added, allowing players to infuse their interiors with Coach’s New York style, alongside a Coach trunk, that featured three pre-styled looks to trigger in-game moods – Playful, Flirty and Confident – when worn.
To bring this story to life and engage the dedicated Sims community, Coach implemented a strategic communications programme spanning media relations, creator partnerships, earned creator engagement, product gifting and community activation.
To generate impactful gaming media coverage, Coach prioritised outreach to top tier gaming and mainstream lifestyle publications, and exclusive interview access with Coach C-Suites for thought leadership opportunities, to produce coverage that would resonate with audiences.
To ensure the collaboration landed positively with the community, a strategic influencer approach was imperative for social amplification. Based on research around Gen-Z’s preference for short form video, with 64% naming TikTok as their top social platform, Coach deployed a TikTok-led influencer campaign that spanned paid influencer content, earned influencer product seeding and a community competition.
Robust auditing led to the selection of 11 creators for paid partnerships, and 12 creators for value-exchange gifting. This research ensured that all creators, in addition to Sims 4 content, had a relevant audience composition, strong engagement, and a tone of voice that aligned with Coach’s brand purpose, positioning them as credible community tastemakers and brand evangelists.
