About The Entry

Nestled in the mountains of southern Zhejiang, Songzhuang Village is hailed as the “Last Hidden Paradise of Jiangnan.” It preserves century-old intangible heritage, such as bamboo and palm weaving, while sustaining the pulse of ancient rural life. However, in an era of rapid modernization, traditional elements often face the challenges of fragmented identity and insufficient industrial conversion. This project establishes a systematic visual framework to bridge the gap between intangible heritage and contemporary aesthetics. By integrating scattered rural symbols into a globally resonant brand system, designers inject sustainable artistic energy into rural revitalization.
The design is deeply rooted in Songzhuang’s unique cultural DNA. The core logo distills century-old weaving patterns and integrates the local "Carp Transformation" legend into a fluid, Mobius-inspired structure. This form symbolizes the perpetual cycle of heritage while capturing the dynamic, emotional essence of the leaping carp. This creates a high-recognition brand touchpoint that serves as a modern expression of ancient craft and builds an unreplicable cultural barrier for the brand.
The custom typography draws from the structural grace of local stone bridges and the sweeping silhouettes of traditional eaves, giving the characters for "松庄" a distinct architectural presence. Complementing this, the auxiliary patterns are derived from the logic of interwoven fibers, forming a versatile graphic system.
The color palette—comprising "Carp Red" from folklore, "Peach Pink" from the local fruit industry, and "Fortune Gold" from the village mascot—constructs a unique narrative. It strikes a sophisticated balance between rustic charm and modern texture.
Ultimately, this design serves as a catalyst for industrial growth and social change. The comprehensive visual system is built for scalability and cross-scenario utility, covering everything from product packaging to spatial wayfinding. It has already supported over 100 design initiatives and successfully brought more than 20 commercial products to market. As a cornerstone of the "Three Villages" shared prosperity model, the Songzhuang brand enhances product value while strengthening cultural identity among residents. It stands as a reproducible paradigm for the sustainable preservation and revitalization of traditional intangible heritage.
