The Children’s Art Festival is Taoyuan’s flagship annual family event, dedicated to creating a world of wonder and inspiration where children can experience the joy of arts and culture through play and discovery.
The 2025 theme, “Let’s Set Out! Explore the Planet of Dreams,” continues to cultivate the “Five Core Powers”—creativity, concentration, imagination, social skills, and aesthetics. These are mapped onto five imaginative planets: Creativity, Wisdom, Courage, Cooperation, and Exploration. Through theater, music, dance, and interactive activities, abstract abilities are transformed into concrete participatory experiences. The festival also embraces inclusivity and equality, ensuring that children with diverse needs can safely and joyfully share in the beauty of the arts.
The festival in 2025 tightly integrates event design with curatorial concepts, crafting a fantastical interstellar world. Children become space explorers embarking on an immersive artistic journey.
The small stage is organized under the themes of the Wisdom, Courage, and Exploration Planets; these feature puzzle-solving games, role-playing adventures, and cross-disciplinary performances combining painting and theater. Highly interactive programs ensure children are not just spectators but active participants. The marketplace is designed as the Creativity Planet, Cooperation Planet, and “Space Supply Station.” The market includes DIY workshops, cooperative challenges, and diverse culinary offerings. Meanwhile, the main stage hosts large-scale productions of drama, music, and performance, evoking the grandeur of returning to a “cosmic headquarters.”
The festival grounds are designed with careful detail: a starry-sky archway, hexagram-tent rest zones, and whimsical decorations of the Five Powers Art Spirits. By day, the park bursts with color; by night, strings of lights transform it into a dreamlike galaxy. Accessibility and inclusivity are central. The marketplace features a “Love Special Session” that welcomes children with needs, ensuring equal participation. This embodies the principle of artistic inclusion, creating a cultural celebration shared across generations.
