“The Breathing Walls” is an experiential artwork that explores one’s emotion in connection to transformative surroundings. This interactive experience allows participants to form a unique hui-style labyrinth of their minds using their brainwaves. The participant wears an EEG headset. Their emotion drives geometric transformations in the architecture and atmospheric changes in the environment. The experience progresses from the outer labyrinth towards its center. It gradually reflects the participant’s stress, attention, excitement, and relaxation. External forms of architecture cast and merge with the participant’s inner mind journey.
We aim to break the boundary between the mind and its external expression — transforming intangible emotions into perceptible, architectural forms. In this experience, emotions are not merely visualized, but materialize into space itself, forming a new kind of reality that is co-authored by the participant’s inner state.
