For over 20 years, the awards show has increased the awareness within the industry, both behind the screens and in communities. The hosts and honorees at the awards gala drive a cultural shift in the way aging Americans are perceived and valued. The AARP Movies for Grownups awards gala has recently extended its reach by broadcasting the event on public television.
